Sunday morning observations -- Week 4

Good morning, Fools! As I watch my beloved Dolphins putting up another stinker against the Saints in London Town, I'm keeping an eye on developments across the league. We've got another big weekend ahead of us, and important decisions to make.

Here's what's up across the NFL ...

Cam Newton will at least have Kelvin Benjamin (knee) in the lineup today, but I still wouldn't (and won't) start Cam, even in the excellent matchup with the Pats.

Rob Kelley is dealing with a rib injury and is planning to suit up Monday night. He's not a great start against the Chiefs, especially with Chris Thompson playing so well for the Redskins. Samaje Perine will revert to his backup role if Kelley plays.

Though Carlos Hyde will be a game-time decision in the late contest this afternoon, signs are pointing to him giving it a go. Matt Breida is his anonymous backup.

Matt Forte (toe) won't play today, so Bilal Powell will get the bulk of the workload. But against the Jags, he'll have a tough time breaking free. Powell has not done much with his opportunities so far this year.

It's looking highly unlikely that Michael Crabtree will play today in Denver. That's puts a lot more pressure -- and attention -- on Amari Cooper, who has been a huge disappointment so far this season. The Broncos' secondary poses a serious challenge as well. With a better matchup, I'd suggest starting Seth Roberts if Crabtree sits; but not this week.

Doug Baldwin will be a game-time call as well.

Expect to see John Brown back in the lineup for the Cardinals today, but he'll likely be on a snap count. Still, his presence boosts Carson Palmer's stock, and Brown is the kind of big-play wideout who is worth a pickup if he's available and you have room on your roster. J.J. Nelson will be a game-time decision.

Kelly Golladay (hamstring) is not likely to play today.

Signs are more positive for Jordan Reed (chest) to play Monday night, but there's obviously a risk that he won't go. Vernon Davis is his backup.

And for some reason, Cairo Santos is still owned in roughly 2/3 of all leagues despite being waived by the Chiefs. You need to dump him, too. The new kicker in KC is Harrison Butker, who sounds more like a linebacker to me.

That's it for now. Heading to Twitter for the inactives next. Good luck today, Fools!
