Sunday morning updates -- Week 5

Good morning, Fools, and greetings from beautiful Boulder, CO.  Up here visiting our son at CU and had the privilege of watching the Buffs get their tails handed to them by the Ducks yesterday.  Hey, at least we got to see Ralphie run!  Pretty cool stuff.

Now, on to the news.  And it's huge this morning.

The biggest news is that Calvin Johnson is out.  He's been dealing with a knee issue and while the team has been relatively optimistic all week, he is inactive today.  Bummer for Megatron's owners.

Zac Stacy will start at RB for the Rams.  Daryl Richardson is officially persona non grata in fantasy circles after his horrible start.  Grab Stacy now in case the rookie turns in a bravura performance and seals the job (that wouldn't be a huge shock vs. the Jags).

Darren McFadden is not expected to play, but we might see Marcel Reece.  Even so, the expectation is that Rashad Jennings will get the bulk of the workload.  He's a decent flex play for those in need of bye-week help.

Other big (and so-so) names declared out this week: Ahmad Bradshaw, Steven Jackson, Stevan Ridley, Mark Ingram, Santonio Holmes, Lance Moore, Marlon Brown and Rob Gronkowski.  Don't count on Miles Austin either.

Looks like Danny Amendola will give it a go; but would you be surprised if he pulled up lame after a series or two?

Cecil Shorts and Justin Blackmon will both be in the lineup for the Jags.  Hard to get too excited about that, but it should improve MJD's chances of finally doing something against the Rams.  Wishful thinking, perhaps.

You shouldn't need this reminder, but just in case, the Vikings, Steelers, Buccaneers and Redskins are on bye.

That's it for now, Fools.  I will be spending most of the day with my son, so I may not be able to tweet the inactives for the later games.  My apologies in advance.  I'll start with the early inactives next.

Good luck!
