Sunday morning updates -- Week 14

Good morning, Fools, from frigid Dallas, TX.  The games can't start soon enough for this stir-crazy boy.  Even church services were canceled!

Hopefully you have a bye in the first round of your playoffs.  I have the top seed in one league, but I've got work to do in my other two.  So here's the latest as we prepare for the first weekend of the fantasy postseason.

Carson Palmer will still be a game-time call, but is expected to start.  That's great news for those with Fitz and Michael Floyd.

You already know Aaron Rodgers and Jay Cutler are out.

Rashad Jennings will most likely be inactive today (along with the perpetually injured Darren McFadden).  Marcel Reece will get the call against the stubborn Jets run defense.  Don't even think about it.

Complicating matters in the New England backfield, Stevan Ridley is expected to be active again.  He was a healthy scratch last week, which opened things up for Shane Vereen.  No telling how many touches Ridley gets, but I certainly wouldn't trust him in my backfield.  Vereen gets a slight bump down with this news.

All signs point to Reggie Bush starting as usual today.  Keep Joique Bell handy just in case he has a flare-up with his injured calf.

Lamar Miller will have the backfield pretty much to himself today with Daniel Thomas out again.  That said, I sure hope you're not counting on him.  The Steelers are playing solid rush D of late, and Miller has mostly been terrible all season.

Vincent Jackson has been dealing with a bum hammy all week.  It's not expected to keep him off the field, but it could make him less effective.  I wouldn't bench him unless you have some real studs as alternatives.

Looks like all systems go for Julius Thomas (knee).

Dennis Pitta has been activated from IR and is expected to be active today.  I wouldn't jump to pick him up or start him.  But it's good news for Joe Flacco and the Ravens' passing game.  Baltimore cut backup RB Bernard Scott to make room on the roster.

That's it for now.  Inactives to begin shortly via Twitter (@ladd_biro).  Good luck, playoff Fools!

  1. In a PPR do you like Jordy Neslon (with Flynn in the snow); Mike Wallace (also in the snow) or Boldin againsy a tough Seahawks D?
