Sunday morning updates -- Week 5

Good morning, Fools.  It's a chilly one in DFW today.

Let's get right to the day's important news:

Seems like everyone wants to know, whom to start: Fred Jackson or CJ Spiller?  If you read Friday's starters and benchwarmers column, you know my answer already.  Neither, against the 49ers.  If you have no choice than to choose one or t'other, then I guess you have to go with the starter, F-Jax.  But again, you're probably better off with "none of the above."

Reggie Bush should be good to go today.  He is active.

Rashard Mendenhall is active today, and the team feels good enough about him to deactivate Jonathan Dwyer.  Still, I think Mendy gets worked back slowly, and he's a very risky start against Philly's run D.

We knew earlier that Hakeem Nicks, Ramses Barden, Lance Moore and Greg Jennings would be out today.  Add Kenny Britt to that list.

Ben Tate looks likely to suit up for Monday night's game.  Remember he's my flier of the week.  Of course, if his toe injury keeps him out, my flier will be a bust.  But at this point, he looks like he'll be good to go.  But make sure you have a backup plan (like Justin Forsett), if you are banking on Tate.

Don't count on Aaron Hernandez being back just yet, but also know that Gronk is in a lot of pain due to a hip injury.  That said, I would never sit an active Gronkowski.

That's it for now.  I've been tweeting the inactives (www.twitter.com/ladd_biro) already.

Have a great day!
